Tuesday, April 9 Black Boy discussion from organizer

NOTE: STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE MUSIC TRIP ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY SHOULD DROP OFF OR SEND ALONG THEIR WORK BEFORE LEAVING TOWN.
Due Thursday: vocabulary 10
Note that Thursday we will be in the library writing on Black Boy. You will not have access, nor time, to reference your book. Specifically, you will select one or two incidents in Wright's biography and connect it (them) to a similar historical or contemporary situation. It may be personal. Come prepared. Make sure you describe the situations vividy, both as you recall from the text and your parallel situation. The parallels need not be situational, but may focus on theme. You should have a minimum of 300 words.  Send along when you are finished or drop it off on my desk BEFORE SCHOOL on Friday, after which time, you will receive only 65 points.
In class: I am handing back your graphic organizers; so as you may refer to them during the discussion. Our topics are the role religion played Wright's life, the types of hunger he knew and the emotions he experienced during his life and how these impacted him.
